The configurator for the new Camaro !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . So if you were/are going to get a new Camaro, what's your ideal build?
Ideally, I’d get a 2SS in Hyper Blue/black interior with the stickshift, dual-mode exhaust and MRC.
There’s an option for black bowties, but you could always just Plastidip the regular ones. I’m also interested in the smoked taillights, but I don’t see those listed.

1) spend less on a (slightly slower) PP Mustang GT
2) enjoy

As a GT350.
/troll
In all seriousness, it sounds like the new SS kicks the GT’s ass. I just can’t get on board with the design (and I like being able to see out of my cars).

2SS, MRC, DME, 6PC, PSR. 10 Oppo points for understanding. Also, those smoked taillights—that would really complete the package.

Do I really have to go up to the 1SS trim to get V8?!

This.
Camaro prices seem on the high side, even considering the alpha chassis upgrade.

I'm cheap. I'd go with the 1LT with the Turbo 4 in Blue Velvet. My only options would be floor mats and knee bolsters. MSRP $27,195

The Mustang isn’t exactly a paragon of exterior visibility either, and you can’t get one with a sunroof.

Ok seriously WTF crack pipe is GM smoking that they priced the Camaro 2SS at $8000 more than the Mustang GT Premium?

Valid points. I’ve honestly never cared much for either Camaros or Mustangs, but this new GT350 is speaking to me in ways that even the Z28 just doesn’t. I’m coming from a car with a manual that revs past 8000, so there’s that.

This:
Dodge Challenger 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker.
6.4 HEMI V8
6 Speed Manual Transmission
Alpine Sound Group
Scat Pack Appearance Group
20” Forged Aluminum Matte Black Wheels
All of this for $47,485, the same price as a well optioned 1SS Camaro.

2SS. That's the number I just came out to with MRC, sunroof, upgraded brakes, black badging, two-tone interior, dual mode exhaust, manual and some other stuff I can't remember.

I’d get the floating one, apparently. I can’t remember a single time in the last few years that the GM configurator has worked properly for me.

What would I want?
2SS, Hyper Blue, Black wheels, Kalahari interior, MRC, Dual Mode Exhaust. But that’s like $45k
For the cheap V8, 1SS+MRC+DME = $40k. Still a bit pricier than I’d like, especially to have no heated seats.
For the cheap ATS: 2LT with 2.0T, no options, $31k. Notbad.jpg, but I’d have to drive one to know if I would be willing to pay that much.

I wish they had an option that made it lighter. Like 1000 pounds lighter.

GM has FINALLY given the Camaro a decent blue! Make mine a Hyper Blue 1SS with black rally stripes, black bowties, magnetic ride, and 6 piston brakes.

With a convertible roof.
Otherwise, driving the Camaro feels like wearing one of these:

1LT, V6 (more power then I’ll ever need, and lower insurance), 6 piston brakes, 6spd manual, dual mode exhaust, 18” wheels, gray cloth seats, engine block heater. Total price: $32,730.
